August 11, 2022 - Très beau Beaujolais, mur et concentré, mais sans lourdeur. Surprenamment meilleur le lendemain. A 2-3 ans de son apogée. J’adore cette cuvée de Foillard.

March 13, 2022 - Floral nose with red berries and cherries. Good acidity with tart red cherries and herbs on the palate. Nice finish. It does show a bit the ripeness and weight of the vintage, but it still remains a classic Foillard Gamay with all the tartness and balance you’d expect. Lovely wine.

December 8, 2021 - Oh my, this is super terrific! This has dense, red fruit, spice, earth. It’s crunchy defined, with many savory spices, intermixed with game meat, tart Bojo fruit. It’s lovely, inviting, nuanced, and flat out delicious! Drinking really well right now.

November 28, 2021 - No formal notes taken as had at Thanksgiving dinner.
Everything I had hoped for though, beautiful Beaujolais with a little age but still with the crunchy fruit profile. A lot going on here, both on the nose and on the palate.

November 26, 2020 - Decanted 4+ hours ahead of turkey dinner and kept slightly chilled until serving. Consistent with past notes only a much more refined red and black fruit profile with a crunchy, tart, rhubarb-and-clove infused finish. Drink 2021-2024. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 93.

March 29, 2020 - This was terrific. It certainly filled all the expectations for a Morgon, and 2015 seems to be a very good year. It offered a wonderful (and I believe, natural, being that it was made by M. Foillard) bouquet of flowery scents and tastes, but with a bit of age on it. I wish I had more bottles - that was it. I had a plan to age this longer, but with shelter in place ongoing, no chance.

May 17, 2019 - Decanted an hour ahead of tacos and fixings. Dark, sappy, cloudy purple and crimson color. The nose brings violets, levender, cloves, and cherry blossoms. The palate is square, tart, juicy, and crunchy, bringing fresh blackberries, huckleberries, red cherries, honeycrisp apples, mahattan bitters, and hints of bananas and strawberry compote. The finish is tannic but refined. This is a heavier style Gamay and still coming together, but fresh and well-made. Drink 2021-2028

March 9, 2019 - Decanted. Now 2h later. Nice melange of ripe blackberries, herbs, minerals, and a hint of bubble gum. Nice blackberries on palate with earth, minerals, stems, and brown leaves. Juicy, vibrant and bright with excellent acids. Nice lingering finish. Nicely done.

November 17, 2018 - Nicely fresh for the vintage. Darker red fruits and some spice and tannin providing some structure.
