March 6, 2024 - Relatively simple burgundy but classic. Lemon curd, green apple, somewhat creamy/buttery but balanced by a nice acidity and mineral underpinnings. My sense is the producer we’ll understand the fruit they had and built a gorgeous if simple wine for the table. Nothing forced or overdone at all. Just glorious inexpensive old world Chardonnay.
January 30, 2024 - Has developed nicely since first bottle. Elegant blend of soft ripe apple fruit and minerality. A crowd pleaser and QPR champ!!
Likely at peak.
December 24, 2023 - Very solid offering for a base level wine. Had some crisp apple and minerality. Medium finish. Great food wine. Enjoyable and doesn't get in the way.
October 28, 2023 - Splendid again. I'd put the QPR up into 93 range.
September 22, 2023 - Tasting notes consistent with last bottle I reviewed about a year ago. Very nice QPR.
September 20, 2022 - I go to my cellar, see the lone bottle, remember my previous experiences and leave it. Today, I brought it up, along with some sancerre, assuming it waa going to be oxidized. Amazingly, it was not! Not interesting, but at least not flawed. On the nose: lemon, pencil shavings, and some pepper and wet stone. On the palate: good acidity, lemon, stone, graphite, lime oil, and slight bitterness on the finish.
September 12, 2022 - Needs 90 minutes to open up, then rather nice flavors and complexity. It’s also better a little warmer than fridge temp.
September 6, 2022 - Ripe apple and pear with a bright edge from the middle forward. Medium weight, slightly simple but good balance.
August 22, 2022 - Enjoyed by everybody tonight as a lovely Chardonnay by those who normally drink this and thought it exceptionally good. I normally drink less white than other wines but this was very smooth.
August 3, 2022 - Better than the last bottle, this wine really grew on me over the course of the evening. At first pour it was "fine", clean, tight, focused. As it opened up the range of fruit and minerals began to appear and by the end of the second hour it was positively singing! No, it wasn't the bottles consumed in-between effecting our judgement.
Broad range of savory, melon, grapefruit, quince, hazelnut, lime flavors followed by a long gravelly finish. Very nice and GREAT QPR
