  Characteristic stinky cellar nose somewhat reminiscent of older Italian and French wines. Lighter than the previous wine (#3)
  
  Full bodied with a silty gravel feeling body. Fairly long finish.

  July 29, 2023 - Was at its best on night 3. Should have decanted 5+ hours or more. Starts with a dusty, dry clay on a hot day note. Savory and herbaceous, medium acidity that works well with Mediterranean food. Good for the price but since I dont drink Chianti that often, would prefer one more accessible and with more character like the Fontondi at higher price point

  April 18, 2023 - well balanced and nice cherry on the nose.
  the palate is powerful and with lots of fruit.
  strawberry, black currant, lemon grass and right on target.
  very good QPR for this riserva ducale.

  April 11, 2023 - Pale ruby color, with a slight amount of fading around the edge. Medium aroma intensity, with aromas of currant, cherry, oak, tobacco. Medium acidity, smooth tannins. High alcohol. Full bodied. Medium flavor intensity. Flavors of cherry, blackberry, currant, oak. Long finish.
