February 7, 2013 - Lemon colour, plentiful bead. Very fresh apple-nectarine aroma. Big mouthfilling mousse. Creamy, a hint of coconut. Nice classic taste otherwise, no signs of age. Vigorous; probably has many years' life ahead. [Cork + cage; 12.5% abv; Nickolls and Perks, -10% @ £30]

May 2, 2010 - 6/10 - Was very much looking forward to drinking this wine after it's strong showing at the winery. However, the champagne failed to yield the nice toasted bread and relatively complex aromas and flavours I had remembered it for. Not sure what happened. Still some grapefruit and cream (as with last time) but acidity was not as smooth or as subtle as I remembered it to me. An ok wine but was disappointed after a previously strong showing.

(Mumm) This is one-third each of the three principal varieties. Smoke and plumply ripe fruit on the nose here, backed up by the suggestion of minerality. A good structure, bright and crisp. It has vigour, but also a softness in the midpalate. Crisply defined with fresh citrus fruit flavours, with a mildly tight finish. Very approachable now but will continue to open out over the next few years I think. Very good!

(Mumm) This has a rather chalky nose, notes of stone and paper, and perhaps also a little sulphur. The palate is fresh and appealing though, with crisp, mint-tinged lemon fruit. It is well defined, has nice acidity and a gentle mousse. Chalky, fresh, clean and grippy. This is another step up in quality from previous vintages for Mumm I think.
