March 14, 2024 - Wow. Spectacular. Every note from 2017 on had it right. It’s flirting with perfection, and has a few years to go at peak. Nose reminds me of a Cheval Blanc on steroids. Fascinating to see how years 1-10 it was languishing, then rounded the corner and cranked up the supercharger. Goes to show that well made wine generally needs 12+ years to show its true self.

December 5, 2020 - Aged beautifully. Still going strong moderate tannins. Gobs of dark fruit. Blackberry, cassis, graphite, and leather. Long finish. Drink now-2025.

August 1, 2020 - Just like Jimmy Durante, What a Nose! This is tasting great and still has the dark inky purple edge on it's robes, Inka Dinka Doo. Cassis, dark stone fruit, blackberry and hint of leather this is a great tasting wine. My last '05 and true delight. Probably a least a few more years before is begins to roll over. I can hear Jimmy now, Whaaataa Wine, Ha cha cha cha cha!

June 29, 2019 - In a perfect drinking window. I agree with most of the notes posted here Cassis liqueur, anise, cloves, vanilla extract, raspberry syrup, blueberry pie filling, and a streak of minerality. Has the structure to maintain this level for 5-7 years for sure. At the great point where the wine still showing fruit vibrancy and secondary characteristics. Just delish!
