April 1, 2024 - Aromas of blackberry, black pepper, tar, dried leaves. Mix of black cherry and tart cherry, cola, hint of baking spices. Really developed and come into its own over the last couple years of bottle age. Good stuff

March 18, 2024 - Had the opportunity to buy 2 more of these from Forge’s library selection. After sitting on a 2019 for a few years, I finally drank it. Delicious. Obvious it was in an oak barrel and had an oaky after taste. Dark, oaky cab franc. Drinking perfectly right now… plan on drinking the other 2 in the next year or less. Not sure how much longer it’ll good.

February 13, 2024 - Prior bottle was almost 8 months ago and my notes were virtually identical. Mixed black and red cherry on the nose along with earth and spices. Nearly medium bodied with both black and red cherry upfront, moving to black cherry and darker red cherry through the middle. Tart black and red cherry behind along with tannins, acidity and some spice, earth and mineral qualities. The mid-body shows good integration with the backside and there's a nice length on the finish. Served at cellar temperature, this served to bring out the black cherry notes over the red. Drinking quite well at present and should be able to maintain this level over the next couple of years.

June 18, 2023 - Prior bottle was just over 11 months ago and this wine remains in a very good spot. Nose shows bright red cherry, earth and light spices. Close to medium bodied with bright red cherry upfront (noticeably brighter than my prior bottle). Moves to slightly darker red cherry through the middle while retaining good clarity and definition to the fruit. A touch of black cherry behind and then tart red cherry and balanced tannins/acidity. Overall, the wine feels bright but open with nicely balanced structure. I will save my last bottle for November 2023 as this is a great window to enjoy this wine.

July 9, 2022 - Prior bottle was 20 months ago and this wine is showing quite well at present. Red cherry, earth and minerals on the nose (has lost the stemy quality of the young wine). Medium bodied with red cherry upfront; not quite as bright as before, but making up for it in openness and depth. Adds a slightly darker red cherry through the middle, along with some black cherry hints towards the back. The mid-body continues the trend of the opening with quite pretty fruit, married to a slightly more balanced structure of tart cherry, moderate acidity and fine-grained tannins. The overall fruit-structure balance here has evolved well. I'll plan to open my next bottle in November 2022 to take advantage of how well his wine is currently drinking.
