June 8, 2019 - Mais elegante que o Dominus. No entanto, um vinho moderno. Gostaria de bebe-lo mais velho

March 26, 2019 - These are my notes over a three hour tasting window.

Wow I believe that this the most "Port" like expression of a RM Reserve Cab that I had ever had. It feels thin at the start yet loaded with prune and plum and berry but without viscosity, in a manner a sort of like a weak Port wine.

I have really thought the 04' to be a good wine, because I have had 4 others over the past 13 years. I Have also not had this in a few years so I am modestly surprised. That perception did change over the next 2 hours.

After 1 hour this wine changed but only slightly. It did improve in viscosity as the fruit Began to come across with some improvement in viscosity. Additionally spice emerged and so did tannin.

After 3 hours this wine settled so much. It is berry laiden and just enough mouthfeel to convey richness.

Wow does this wine require lots of time. Maybe 4-6 to totally emerge.

February 17, 2019 - Slow ox'd for one hour. At first, berry smoothie on the nose with an almost artificial bent. Even so, a lovely palate, with just enough acid to be invigorating, though the slightly raisiny finish is worrying. After pouring the remainder into a decanter for another hour, the berry smoothie blew off to reveal a beautiful nose of blood and leather. Powdery tannins, mocha notes, and flavors reminiscent of a good bourbon, I think not only due to the oak! I bet this has many years of upside left, not that I have any bottles left.

August 18, 2018 - Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Aromatic nose of violets, blackberry, currant, mocha, tobacco leaf, licorice and spice. Black and red fruit, licorice, mocha, cedar, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Finishes soft and dry with very good length. Full bodied. Beautiful Napa wine with Bordeaux character. Served with grilled steaks and a chimichurri sauce.
