July 31, 2023 - Agree with comments of WABI47 below. The acid largely gone, and a slightly strange plum taste on PnP. Sort of a black cherry/plum taste; almost candied but can't quite get my finger on it. Tannins muted and mostly absent. Perhaps a bit medicinal.

Figured it out. That odd taste is kirsch.

July 31, 2022 - bought on release, few mm ullage. Perfect cork /// Sweet Cali pinot cola fruit, long and some complexity. Delicious! Based on this bottle, other bottles will make it to20 years, but probably at maturity & peak.

April 22, 2022 - What a nose! And the freshness is still there after 17 years, though a hint of dullness creeps in after you swirl the wine for a minute in the mouth.

April 29, 2020 - deep nose; ripe plum with a hint of prune; earth and tobacco and 'other' in the background; tannins resolved but there is still adequate acidity; a hint of heat comes and goes

December 17, 2019 - Fairly pleased for 15 years old; the ripeness of '05 and the coolness of Anderson Valley averaged out to create a balanced wine not showing much age at this point.

April 3, 2017 - Light red in color. 14.3% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, forest floor and baking spices. Medium body with plenty of acidity. Lush and elegant with layers of rich fruit. Cranberry, cherry cola, rhubarb and minerals on the palate. The finish is very long with sappy fruits and caressing tannins. Absolutely gorgeous Anderson Valley Pinot Noir that is aging ever so gracefully. Drink over the next 2-3 years.

July 10, 2016 - Nothing eluding of Anderson Valley here, just a solid, well-aged Williams-Selyem. It began coming into its own 15 minutes in, exhibiting good acidity matching the still quite vibrant fruit backed by black pepper and hints of gunpowder on the finish. One hour in it seemingly morphed slightly into a relatively more stewed fruit-driven domain whilst still keeping the balance. Paired marvelously with soy sauce-marinated salmon. 14.3% ABV. 88-89

December 11, 2014 - Drinking very well right now. Nice age, lots of fruit as I'd expect from WS. Still seemed a bit on the overextracted side, but perhaps that's just my taste.
