February 22, 2021 - This Zin continues to drink nicely, with floral spiced brambleberries on the nose and palate. Finish is relatively clean and short. Nice acids/fruit balance.

But definitely time to drink up - the thinning finish would indicate to me that its beginning to lose its stuffing.

March 6, 2019 - Much crunchier and bright than I was expecting, especially with 14.5+% alcohol. Bramble-berry nose, spice, crunchy red fruits (cranberry) amongst the regular array of Zin flavors. Nice minerality. Yummy. Reminded me like something from Sky and not a valley floor producer.....

August 31, 2018 - The most interesting zinfandel I think I've had to date. This wine is rather transparent, light. Aged raspberry profile with some herb and lychee. This wine is quite smooth on the front. Aged pomegranate. The middle of this wine is a little more herbal and even a bit raucous. The finish gains some nice sharp acidity and seems to have a more youthful finish. Overall, quite nice. Not probably the "classic" expression of Zin, but definitely a very interesting interpretation of zin. Definitely not over the hill, so the 2009-2013 CT drinking window is quite inaccurate. I wouldn't trust this wine in 10 years to give much, so it's time to start drinking this one in the next 5 years.

May 19, 2017 - This wine has mellowed with 12 years. Boysenberry jam, strawberry compote and a nice touch of spice, this wine shows nuances that you don't expect from a Zin. Marched with smoked ribs.

March 9, 2015 - Crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. Brambly black fruits, pepper and licorice on the nose. Rich and jammy with port like characteristics on the palate. Flavors of black cherries, blackberries, prunes and rhubarb. Medium length on the finish. Ready to drink. Somewhat disappointing given previous experience with Williams Selyem Zins from this era.

January 3, 2015 - Needs an hour in decanter but opens up quite a bit after that. Good berry fruit still left but turns a bit sour on the finish which tells me that this is on the downward slide. Drink up.

March 30, 2014 - Light ruby in color with sweet strawberry pie on a nice long finish. This is my first of 4 bottles and i was a little concerned i have waited to long to drink but i think will hold for another couple of years.

June 2, 2012 - Bought at release from Williams Selyem. Ripe fruit aromas with a slightly jammy character. I preferred the palate which started with a good combination of red and black cherry flavors. Simpler and shorter than I would have expected, but good balance from start-to-finish.
