Community Tasting Notes 13

March 25, 2022 - A smooth and voluptuous wine with a velvety texture and still fairly full tannins. Still a bit jammy for me but a better showing than my last bottle and it seems to need more time. 91+

September 5, 2020 - Time to Taste 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): Decanted for two hours and served five hours after the cork was pulled. Excellent. Very pretty, with cassis, rose and lavender elements. Black fruit dominates the palate. Impeccably balanced with a long finish.

June 26, 2020 - Purchased from the winery on release. Stunning nose of blueberry, violet and cassis. This has a gorgeously opulent texture and the wine is so fine with brilliant flavors of ripe cassis and blackberry liquor. Yet this otherwise magnificent wine is marred by a hot, alcoholic finish that even a charred steak couldn’t resolve. Yet another example of a great Napa Cab being picked too ripe and then not aging correctly because of the elevated alcohol or over-extraction or something.

May 17, 2020 - Outstanding bottle drank after the Bond Melbury 04 somewhat spicier than the Bond with great intensity of flavors.
It smells like red currant and cranberry. It tastes like cinnamon. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.
