Community Tasting Notes 14

September 5, 2020 - Semillon has taken over and dominated this wine -- giving it some vanilla notes that some confuse with new oak. Still quite youthful with room to improve, but showing finesse, elegance, and firmness. Old white Bordeaux are rare and greatly underappreciated. Cellared since original release.

June 21, 2020 - Absolutely perfect bottle of this. Fresh, crisp and mineral-driven, with notes of grass, herb, citrus, a touch of petrol, stones. Medium+ bodied, with medium+ acidity and very good length. Beautiful. Full of tension and freshness. Really stunning for a wine of this age.

February 12, 2020 - In magnum. Lemongrass and menthol cream on the nose and palate. Simple and easy to like.

December 6, 2018 - Chalky with yellow fruits, medium-weight, very good freshness still, but given my past experiences with old whites from DDC and Graves/Pessac-Léognan in general, I had expected/hoped for more. Cellared since original release.

July 27, 2018 - Again beautiful clear colour. Grassy, ripe lemon, lovely complexity. Vegetality of green tea, some reduction in the beginning.
