January 14, 2021 - Easily my favorite Evangelho from any producer. I forgot this was Mourvèdre and kept thinking it a zin. Definitely shows the D&R house style - bright crunchy, fleshy Red strawberry/raspberry fruit, pretty florals, chalky tannins, zingy acid and slightly raspy velvet texture. At 13.5% (notably low for Contra Costa), this is at full phenolic maturity and a total flavor bomb, but as far from being overdone as possible. It’s so delicious I don’t really stop to contemplate it, but upon reflection it also shows the darker blue/black fruit and Mourvèdre funk lurking under all that red fruit. An easy 94 and potential to be higher with added complexity over 5+ years. Hope I can keep my hands off long enough to see.

December 31, 2020 - Sweet and Sour Plum or cherry, soy, molasses. Improved with air time, rounded out and became more chewy. Will decant next bottle 12 hours.

December 19, 2020 - It's got great, vibrant fruit that sucks you right in and the palate has such great depth that it almost feels rich, but of course in your head you know that this is no ooze monster, clocking in at a lithe 13.5%. The complexity and intensity of this wine is a significant step up from the Familiar mourvedre which is also fantastic.

The bottle was opened a couple hours before serving with no decant. But over the evening it only improved in the vibrance of the fruit as well as the overall complexity of the wine.

November 21, 2020 - The 2019 Dirty and Rowdy Evangelho Vineyard Mourvedre leaps from the glass with beautiful florals, ripe red cherry, plum and a touch of smokiness and cool menthol. All framed by mouthwatering acidity and grippy tannins. This is fresh, plush, and super pleasurable to drink right now. Drink anytime over the next decade.

Drank this during one of Hardy's "Friendsgiving".

November 16, 2020 - Consumed half bottle after a 5 hour decant, will try the rest on night 2 and 3

Intensely aromatic, grippy tannins, lots of red fruit, medium acidity, and a little hot on the finish. Drink now with lots of decanting time, or hold for a good bit. This is my first R&R wine, I'm officially a fan.
