May 18, 2012 - Clear black cherry. Medium nose of dark berries and clean raw meat. Fresh and fruity palate, with cleansing tannins, spice and more dark fruit. The finish is more intense, pleasantly tart with a touch of old wood and leather. This is a nicely mature Barbaresco. Even deeper the second day.

November 2, 2008 - thinner and with much less fruit than expected for a bottle that I figured would be in its prime and has been stored well. Nose was reticent but the smoky cherry fruit aromas were there with some coaxing. The style was correct but the body was disappointing. The acidic framework was there, but where had most of the fruit and complexity and length gone? It improved with some air time, but it never became the voluptous wine of my expectations, more like a faded reminder of what I was looking for. Or is 9 years too old for Barbaresco?

June 21, 2008 - Medium bodied wine, highlighted by notes of cherry and rose petals, and an earthy finish. The wine paired well with grilled lamb and was also excellent on its own.
