January 1, 2018 - Better than some from this NYE night. Very tight and dry and lacking fruit.

November 4, 2015 - Labour Weekend at Pokai Parera (Ekatahuna, New Zealand): Incredibly perfumed with textbook chenin varietal personality. Stemmy complexity, green melons, green apple, and hazelnuts. There is a bit of age noticeable, but this is an effusive wine with a lovely beeswax note. In the mouth, great chenin character - intense, and herbaceous.

August 6, 2015 - Ripe and strong at 14% and with lovely and classic aromas of wool and stone fruit. Basically balanced on the palate and again, lovely. Not a whole lot of intrigue here though. A vintage of lovely fruit and not as complex as some. But a lovely wine.

Light floral and citrus nose, pleasant mouth feel. Nice and fresh.

November 14, 2012 - Very impressive! Nose is just lovely, albeit a bit shy on day 1, and the aromas are perfectly delicate. Wool, beeswax, winter herbs like rosemary, yellow fruit, and all wispy and always moving. This is 14% alcohol but seems lower because the wine is so well balanced, and the acidity keeps it bright and refreshing. There is a lush feel to the palate but it is focused and essentially dry. Such lovely wine.
