October 19, 2008 - Typically I wouldn't score a wine so high that lacked complexity on the palate, however, the nose is so delicious I was compelled to do so.
Blueberry pie followed by chocolate aromas. That gets me every time. You'll also experience different aromas depending on whether you aerate or not. When I didn't swirl I got more of a scorched earth aroma. Give it some time in the decanter & glass if you can't pick it up.
The palate is equally delicious, but there's no secondary nuance, which is usually a non-starter. But I couldn't resist the black raspberry flavor, dusty tannins & 10 second finish. Which is a bit hot, but good.
Unfortunately this is a library wine that I won't be able to purchase down the line, which is a shame considering how good it is compared to their typical releases.
