December 15, 2023 - Further evidence that 3-4 years is a very good length to allow CB SB to mature. It has developed almost a sweet edge to match and balance the natural acidity of the wine. Still lively and vibrant but now a rounded quality that adds appeal

May 14, 2023 - Intriguing and a wonderful way to end a weekend trio of Southern Hemisphere wines. This has definitely evolved even in the six months since we last tasted it. Comparatively less cat’s pee or grassy gooseberry on both nose and palate with a slight limey finish and a hint of tropical fruit

May 7, 2023 - Opened and slow ox’d (screw cap), with slight change over several days. Pale yellow color. Cat pee, grass, pineapple on the nose (with more transition to cat pee by day4). Grapefruit rind, pomelo, hint of pineapple and petrol, about 35-40 sec finish. Not my favorite style of sauvignon blanc but represents around the pinnacle of this style and does pair well with seafood. Decent QPR but not crazy about watching these prices creep up annually.

March 31, 2023 - Yet another experience. My first bottle was a disappointment. My second bottle was in line with my expectations and past experiences with the winery. This one was the same as the second bottle on the first night but was better on the second night. I am not used to my experience with a SB moving around so much.

December 23, 2022 - I first went to Cloudy Bay in 2002 … and was “there for 2 days” cooking.. racking, eating , drinking. I love this place but the past 10 years have been hit and Miss at times. This is the best I’ve had in 10 years. Almost a Perfect SB creation! Balanced but intense… singing of grapefruit.. gooseberry.. lemongrass.. kiwi .. lime and some grass and minerality. I almost couldn’t believe it being so perfect in complexity, uplifting acidity .. pure fruit and roundness. It’s a Picton dream. I’ve got 1/2 a bottle left … I’m going to watch Jimmy Stewart in .. It’s a wonderful Life
