June 23, 2022 - Knights Valley, Calif., 2018 Gehricke Cabernet Sauvignon ($23 Costco). Sharp mid-dark garnet, viscous (14.8 alc.); herbaceous, red fruit, cassis, mint and oak nose; mid-plus acids; medium to full tannins; full fruit; some depth; long chewy hot finish. BBQ, rib and beef wine. 16.5 UC Davis Scale, 91 other scales.

March 11, 2022 - Decanted for an hour+. Inky crimson color. Aromas of currant, cedar, cassis and chocolate. Refined. The palate follows the bouquet. Fine tannins. Lingering finish. Impressive.

September 23, 2021 - Thin, one dimensional, fruity, certainly not inspired… Purchase at Costco for around 20 bucks… Which is too much… Here on seller tracker says average price is about $34 which is insane for this level of quality of wine… I had hoped given the Pedegree of the estate and nice valley Appalachian That I’d be surprised… But like often when purchasing winds of unknown origin (producers) it’s like a minefield, every once in a while you hit a home run and that Saturday with this one I struck out.
