December 14, 2022 - The 2018 Champ is wonderfully tight for a Village (so please decant young or enjoy only on day 2). Drunk quite young, the wine had a lush fruit phase. Now it is much more structured. In addition to the fruit (heart cherry, cherry pits, some blackberry), it shows a wonderful chalky minerality as well as hints of dried thyme. The acidity is super in its dimension (medium+), the wine has a nice draw and the tannins are noticeable (medium), giving this very good Village just the right structure and grip. Ends rather darkly fruity and with a pleasant astringency. Best drunk at 16-18 degrees Celsius.

    November 22, 2021 - Pop and pour.
Purple and crimson red in color. Very long legs that slowly fell back down. Smell of red fruit/cherry/raspberry and I was getting very faint smell of funk sometimes. Wine is fresh, red fruited and well structured. The flavors coat the mouth and lasts long. Doesnt have the tart attack at the finish that turns me off a bit. Primary but nice to drink now. Will pair very nicely with so many different types of food from certain seafoods, chicken (depending on ingredients and how it is prepared), duck, crispy pig, beef, I would even do red sauce pastas. Durcohe is a fine wine that should get more attention and it will. Saving the rest for other days. Will update then.

Ok so I was planning on saving some for the following week but it didnt happen. Bottle was downed.

September 21, 2021 - I can't keep my hands off these Duroche village wines. They're just so pleasurable and versatile. This shows '18 ripeness but in a good, vintage-typical way, while retaining Duroche's seductive texture and openness.

June 12, 2021 - Deep blue and black fruits on the nose. Great weight on the palate with a depth of purple fruit layered on an acid core. So primary right now but incredibly enjoyable with lots of stuffing for later.
