October 29, 2023 - Decanted 4 hours. Deep purple but not quite opaque. Nose of oak barrels, baked fruit tart/strawberry shortcake. Punchy on the palate with the flavors of a bigger and heavier wine but body isnt over the top. Ripe sweet blackberry, tobacco, cherry ricola lozenge. Ends on a creme brulee/toasted sugar note with a long finish. More red fruit stsrted to poke through as the evening went on which was welcome. Nice acidity and tannins are fine and arent too stiff.

Will leave my other bottle for 3-5 years.

March 6, 2023 - Double decant. Blackberry. Tobacco. No rocks funk but, there is an extra layer of complexity that may reveal itself down the road. Beautifully Textured. Long drying finish. Though I'm not sure if I agree with the JD100 or the $150 per bottle price tag , It is a gorgeous wine.

October 31, 2022 - Extraordinarily weightless on the palate with a smooth, nearly silky texture. Cherry and herbal notes mingle with earthier tones. Decanted several hours - shows promise of evolving over the coming years.

August 13, 2022 - Four hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Blackberry, strawberry, pomegranate, lemon poppyseed muffin, and cinnamon apple on the nose. Very smooth, tongue drying, slightly peppery palate, with fine acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

Not sure that this will get much better, but it will likely drink at this peak for three years. Another winner from this impressive winery.

August 13, 2022 - J knows I'm not the biggest fan of Wash St cabs but I asked for him to open one he thought I'd like and he was gracious enough to do this one. Very tight/tannic when first popped to taste. Decanted 4 hours and it really came together. Beautiful dark red fruit, quality winemaking. I didn't get any of the red apple core that J did on it, more dark raspberry maybe? Early on after the decant this had nice weight, maybe medium heavy but toward the later part of the night it kind of fell back in weight slightly to just medium and more of the classic Wash St feel came on. By that I mean it began to feel lighter and more Quilceda Creek like to me with its taste profile. Not a bad thing for some, but not my fav type of cab. I gave this a 96 for the first couple of hours we were drinking it and maybe a 95 the last bit of the night. These are very well made wines and more close to Napa in type than many others I've tasted from Wash St. Thanks for sacrificing one for me, J!
