December 23, 2010 - Vinous and spicy, elegant oak, juicy, dry but round, smooth but adequate acidity; pleasing, satisfying, well-constructed, lovely soft fruit, a very invidual finesse but not very tight or mineral.

January 16, 2010 - First time I tasted this wine, and didn't quite know what to expect from a mixture of local grapes that I know nothing about - Rabigato, Cordega ++ But wow... It was a bit too cold to begin with, with the nose dominated by butter malt and a nice, fat feeling on the palate. With the temperature up a few degress, more complex aromas were released. Put the nose to the glass and it is greeted by such a rich mix of aromatic elements: Lots of citrus, peach, spices, flowers, minerals and a touch of oak. In the mouth it is full and rich and fat, citrus and spices that last and last. Great acids to keep it vibrant. This makes me think of Burgundy, even though I have little experience with whites from that area. What an amazing wine!

November 9, 2008 - Jason Brandt Lewis Hits The Speed Limit: Lots of blind and interesting wines inc Equinox, Westport Rivers, Tablas Creek, Do Ferreiro, etc (JBL & Lynne's pad - Berkeley Hills): Corked - badly

February 20, 2008 - Jeroboam Club Tasting: Wines of Portugal (130 Cheltenham Road, Bristol): Very pale white gold. Toasty, yeasty, bread dough on the nose, with pear drops and lemon. Oaky but yet lean. Very oaky on the palate, masking the fruit, a rather oily finish. Will the oak ever integrate? Not for me.

September 25, 2007 - Blends Practice Session - Red and white (Stellenbosch): Light straw in colour the nose is floral with peach pit, apricot halves, hay and woodsmoke. The woodsmoke seems to morph into new oak spices. The entry is rich and deep with a super creamy textural underlay of creme fraiche and fatness in the mid-palate. A light, delicate perfume permeates throughout, all suggesting Viognier as part of the blend and a flabby to low acidity. Not the most intense blend and the second grape eludes me. Seems a warmer area with that richness. Finishes with a phenolic twist - again, hallmarks of Viognier.
