Community Tasting Notes 10

December 1, 2023 - Pop and pour, drank half the bottle over 2 hours. Perhaps this wine has calmed down a bit since when I opened my first bottle a year ago. But I suspect that I mostly enjoyed it more than the first because I was prepared for the in-your face Paso-style fruit and profile that this wine possesses. I hope other notes are correct and that this will shine someday, but I personally would not bet on that much of a transformation, because I don't get the acid or structue needed.

May 26, 2023 - Better this time around. A lot of funk at first, this needs lots of air. Very little drop off, if any on day two. Will wait at least a year before I consume my next bottle.

May 10, 2023 - This really needs some air to shed its overly fruity aromas, but after that it really shined with earth and leafy notes along with a nice balance and a bit of tannin.
Night two seems to be the same story - needs air to get back to where it was.
I'll probably wait another 2-3 years before opening the next one unless it's for a party.

April 7, 2023 - A nice reminder that Napa is capable of producing balanced, delicious wine. Violet, truffles, tobacco, dusty plums, Szechuan peppercorn, cherry.

At the start of the drinking window, but if you store it properly, this will be best in 5ish years and probably last til 2040.

January 20, 2023 - Same as prior note, a bit more fruity than the 2017, nicely balanced, ready now
