July 8, 2015 - Still a huge Pinot after all of these years. Just hints of browing at the edge. Nose is bright red fruits with a sniff of alcohol. Big, spicy and deep but finishes with a final impression of heat.

June 14, 2013 - Lots of alcohol seemed to dominate this and with 14.8% alc. represented on the bottle, I suspect it was understated by a point or more; still deep purple color, the overripe fruit did not last long until it was overwhelmed by the heat; some like this style and others even give it high scores; as much as I like the family here behind the wines, I`m not a fan of the style.

July 17, 2011 - Gobs of rich dark fruit, roasted notes...oh who cares...this Pinot in Syrah's clothing was tiring and uninteresting, at least for this palate.

June 20, 2011 - A stunning bottle showing black cherry and plum. The finish had a soft tang of white pepper.

December 9, 2009 - Remains dark for an eight year old California Pinot Noir; however, the edge is changing. Nose is rich and the first impression on the palate is the same. Mid palate and finish are hot with a red apple peel element and some bitterness. Noticed a slightly sour watermelon rind component at the end as well. 14.8 percent alcohol. I like the nose better than the finish. Will return to the wine tomorrow night. To be continued....

April 5, 2009 - Lots of fruit. Pretty typical for an Adam Lee wine. I loved it!

March 27, 2009 - 3/27/2009: Popped & poured with rib-eye steaks. Almost black at the core, no sign of age. Slightly cloudy. Cran-raz on the nose, with a bit of sous bois. On the palate, turns more into sour cherry. This is dense stuff, but not sugary or cloying. Acid is there, but not too obvious. Texture is fine on the palate. This will hold for a long time, but not sure if there if time will improve this. Kinda one-dimensional in terms of the flavor - sour fruit in abundance. Two left in the cellar, might as well wait another year and see what happens.

November 3, 2008 - This pinot is finally coming into it's own. A very dark color almost cab like. I might have picked this blind as a syrah rather than a pinot but it was very enjoy. Should peak in the next year or so and hold for at least another 5 years. A great effort. Almost as much fun as a jeep ride with Gary Pisoni but not quite. A serious pinot.

April 26, 2008 - Very heavy and clumsy. the asian spice was there, but wrapped around a ton of harsh tannins. After 4 hours, some fruit started to come out. Maybe in 5 or 6 years it may come around?
