Community Tasting Notes 35

  • Tim Heaton Likes this wine:

September 8, 2023 - PnP, very good, and to my tastes, the best of the nine bottles I opened since release. The oak is perfectly integrated now, allowing the energy, and brightness to cast the fruit in more of a red strata. If anything, this is still fairly young; it's also elegant, and clearly has the qualities that will see this drinking at a high level for another decade, at least. Med+ body, fresh, with some tertiary character beginning to emerge. I wish I had another case. Cork and fill were in vg condition. Six years on since my last bottle, and my note from that time stating that: I needed to hold, and that better things were yet to come seems quite prescient. highly recommended

  • Neecies Does not like this wine:

December 18, 2021 - It's dead, Jim. Necrotic nose, chunky floaters of sediment.

August 17, 2020 - Muted nose, big tannins, asphalt, black licorice, bitter chocolate. Needs long decant maybe. Lots of life left.

  • Neecies Likes this wine:

March 11, 2019 - Enjoyable middle aged Spanish red, but pulled from cellar and poured immediately. Mistake, it needed to settle--next one: remove day before, DECANT!

October 6, 2018 - Delicious right now. Last had this over seven years ago. Evolved from a massive tannic beast to a smooth and rich pleasure. Medium to full body with red berry fruit, moderate acidity, and a strong earthy component. Long and lingering finish. Drink now.
