Community Tasting Notes 6

August 19, 2023 - An elegant wine, but it had none of the zin qualities that I look for. No spice, no bramble, no fruit burst. I have had Turleys with zin grapes sourced from Grist Vineyard, and the difference between the Turley Grist Zin and the Jewell Grist Zin is like night and day. That said, the Jewell was light bodied and firm, pairing very well with my curried chickpea soup.

February 17, 2023 - Nice spicy zin nose. Medium bodied, a bit sweet but nice chalk and tannins.

August 2, 2022 - Still too young to approach. Need additional time in the bottle to meld together. Should improve with time.

June 8, 2022 - Minimal rosy nose. Very drinkable but not tasting like a Zinfandel. Extra tannins and acid.

February 1, 2022 - Light and bright and drinking very nicely. I should have gotten more than this - loving this style of Zin.
