January 15, 2022 - Ruby/purple in the glass, moderately aromatic nose, herbaceous plus notes of cacao, palate is pronounced, balanced and integrated, dry, plum, cherry, bramble, green pepper, note perfumed, acidity is high, tannins are medium and slightly green, alcohol is high nut integrated. Very nice, fantastic QPR.

January 8, 2022 - Medium ruby. Luscious nose, which we called "syrupy, in a good way." Licorice and red fruit on the nose, perhaps with a hint of lees?

On the palate, bone dry with a decidedly cranberry finish. Light and refreshing (med- body) with spiciness that lingers on the tongue. The only thing that was less than stellar was that it didn't have much going on for us in terms of retronasal action, and the wine was otherwise so good that we almost expected that.

Still, Max called this one "smooth and complex." It went great with salmon with dill and capers. We'd buy it again.

Additional notes: Destemmed; stainless steel tanks. Highlighted on Wine for Normal People.

December 31, 2021 - This wine gets a bump from 91pts to 93pts for shear value it’s quite ridiculous… it held up with $80 btls and wound up being a favorite in the wine group!

Sight: beautiful medium ruby color with Violette from I’m guessing a partial Carbonic maceration possibly ?

Nose: The nose is wild haha just stellar in the best way it’s concentrated Black cherry, raspberry liquor, red plums and blackberry perfume. Secondary notes of earthy minerality and like a dusty brick note add depth with that classic green pepper note followed by some exotic spices!

Taste: The wine is so drinkable and well balanced the fruit flavors are concentrated and followed the nose identically. I want more !!! Beautiful acid adding lift to perfectly integrated silky tannins great wine making here in a great vintage.

Overall: If you don’t like Cab Franc drink this it will change your mind… The vines are 50 years old and the wine is concentrated, perfumed, and complex with incredible drinkability don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
