    November 24, 2022 - Wow, this was great. Old wines can obviously be very hit or miss, but this was stored perfectly and presented very well.

    November 21, 2022 - Good, not great. A bit tired (but suffered from being next to the 85 Giacosa). Still, good, pleasant, lots of acidity, slight oxidation, red fruit, a myriad of tertiary, if slight, flavors.

    April 27, 2019 - Unanimous wine of the night. Shy nose of raspberry pastille and pressed roses, but what a palate! Despite all of the tannin having faded away, this is almost architectural in its structure, like it has chiseled shape and definition and mouthwatering acidity without having any particularly notable flavor. Really enjoyable.

    April 25, 2019 - Fantastic. Fully mature yet retaining lots of vigor. Beautiful bouquet of cinnamon, mulling spices, ferrous parent materials, leather. The palate is suave with a layered, bright, sappy mouthfeel and a sensationally long and lingering finish. So good. 94-95 pts.

    June 9, 2008 - dinner after my birthday (Il Corso): While also evolved this exhibts better freshnes than the Bianca with more spice notes to the dried and fading fruit with a baking/middle eastern spice tone.Turns faintly floral with good dried rose notes. In the mouth this exhibits better acids and riper tannins than the Bianca with a bit of fleshiness rounding out the slightly medicinal and beet root tones to the tart berry fruit. really very nice with good length, lacks only a bit of complexity and, like the Bianca, fades a bit in the glass over the course of dinner but is still a very nice bottle.
