August 20, 2023 - Perhaps not the best condition bottle with shoulder ullage but this was still good although it wasn’t as dense concentrated as I would have liked it, with lovely tertiary flavours and spices. Still a gorgeous wine made by a master wine maker.

May 26, 2023 - Great provenance = a tremendous bottle. Velvety tannins = has another decade for peak. Super expressive, seamlessly woven aromatics of red fruit, forest floor and coffee. Recent vintage Leroy grand crus have nothing on gerard’s pousse bousse. Just unbelievable. 100pt perfection likely in 10+yrs but for now the palate fills up with some tannin. A cellar champion.

August 6, 2022 - Wasn’t the best performing bottle, but it did look like it was stored in decently. Funk took a little while to blow off. First 2 hours saw a lot of funk and spearmint dissipate to reveal a pretty fresh red bouquet. The palate was pretty consistent from the get-go, a little grainy and good but not great midpalate depth. Overall you’re always taking a risk buying/opening something this old, but I can see the potential of this bottle if it was 100% on (this was probably a B- / B bottle). Still enjoyable for me if I were to throw price aside

February 26, 2022 - Magnificent -- medium-light, silky, pure, focused red fruits, length, just a touch of cèpe for complexity, and still quite young. Cellared since original release.
