February 29, 2024 - Pop n poured. Little funk on opening. Some dark fruit left with leather and bandaid as has been mentioned previously. Tannins mostly resolved. No reason to wait to finish these bottles
February 19, 2024 - Still drinking great, even on PnP. Solid acid - great with steaks. Tertiary flavors and drinking like a left bank BDX with the funk.
January 31, 2024 - Encore bien jeune ce vin !
Fruits mures, graphite, légère touche terreux, tannins encore asséchants, un vin nous amenant en rive gauche Bordelaise mais avec cette touche plus chaude américaine.
Un vin serieux, complet qui va tenir encore un 10-15 ans sans problème.
February 12, 2022 - Lots of leather on nose. Taste very barnyard with some red currant showing thru. Had a bit of brett to it, but very trace amount. Still a delightful wine, but just a bit of that Bandaid taste especially on the finish. Did not decant, which I would definitely do on future bottles. Personally, don’t see this aging much more past this point but very delightful right now.
January 8, 2022 - PnP. Sensory conterno. Lovely and mature. Pleasant nose of leather rubber and tar. Initially a bit tight on the palate. Leather and rubber, hints of mushroom, and a slight bitterness on the finish.
September 18, 2021 - Still with life left in it; great wine; nice fruit with great acidity; beautiful nose and long finish.
September 28, 2020 - Tasted blind. Fresh nose with some green notes, dark fruit, deep and young. Quite tannic still on the palate with dark fruit, tobacco, and underwood flavors suggesting the age. Long and very good finish. I was very positively surprised by this, my WOTN.
February 15, 2020 - Still drinking great! Tannins still intact, but softened and loads of fruit still present.
March 24, 2019 - Still vigorous, nice acidity, well integrated and balanced, soft tannins, dark berries after 22 years! We picked up our new allocation today and are doing our best to drink the oldies, this one was still wonderful and not over the hill
November 11, 2017 - Very strong nose of fresh leather with hints of tar and some subtle bramble fruits. This is like walking into a leather factory. Very nice and smooth palate. Some sweet, though subtle, red fruits, with hints of slightly cooked mint.
A day later still going strong. More cherry liquor, with some hints of tar, and some nice acidity. Definitely a bit better the first night, but still pleasant.
