March 15, 2024 - My first time tasting a Jose Zuccardi Malbec. I popped, and I let it sit for many hours before tasting. My first impression was not very good. The wine is still young and has quite a bit of tannin. On evening two the wine had mellowed considerably. Evening three was no different. I have tasted better Malbec and believe that I could find something more approachable. Is it worth $44 a bottle? No Senor!

December 31, 2023 - Delicious scents of leather and roast beef dominated the nose when this bottle was first opened. An hour in the decanter and the dark fruit began to assert. A hint of creamy chocolate and spice appears on the finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and pleasing. The tannins are less chalky than few years ago. The time to drink it is right now.

September 16, 2023 - Two hour decant. It’s nice and soft yet holds a tannic edge. Inky in the glass and dark-fruited on the palate.

September 9, 2023 - Wonderful wine that could still age more and develop. Decanted for over an hour before dinner and was the perfect pair for a dry-aged rib steak. Would buy it by the case, no questions.

July 29, 2023 - 91 Jul 2023 PnP 👃 not very giving, a heavy nose, plum. 👅 Black plum, sweet blackberry, med+ weight, stems, fairly balanced, velvety tannins, the finish is kind of long and has some smoked meat to it. After 2h decant, more acidity, brighter fruit. A fairly big wine, a little less elegant than I was hoping for but a good wine for sure.
