November 13, 2023 - Blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry SMACK! Yep, that's right, it's a Napa fruit jam in your face. I like it, wouldn't drink it on a hot summer's day but cool evening with a steak? You betcha!

Sounded like a sales pitch? 😉 Pronounced dark fruit on the nose, some floral and a hint at pepper. On the PNP it's good. I've had this before and recall it's likely better with a decant and patience. I also believe this is better at 60F and I'm drinking this from our rack at room temp about 68F+. Nice fruits, good acidity and decent finish.

I've noticed Beau Vigne has become popular and alas Legacy now eclipses $36/750ml. Back in the day you could score this under $30 and I deemed it a good buy. Still good wine, don't get me wrong, but the field of competitors begins to widen substantially at mid $30s.

September 11, 2023 - Much better natural cork than the last bottle. The boozy nose is the same as before, and at nearly 15% no surprise. Two years ago the wine was flabby and too fruity for me, very tannic.
The nose has matured, some nice raspberry and cassis. Tannins have mellowed a bit but are still present, balanced acidity, long vibrant finish.

September 9, 2023 - Every time I have this, it gets better. Fir me, the quintessential Napa Cab. So perfect. Enough fruit. Enough tannins. Enough acidity. Great the first day. Better the 2nd. Not over powering. Just perfect. Doesn’t disappoint. I think my rating gets higher with each bottle.

July 14, 2023 - It’s OK (barely) - one dimensional fruit bomb at first, and then fairly quickly heads further downhill as it opens - disjointed with heavy acidity, noticeable ABV and an unpleasant finish. If I had had one glass right on opening, and slammed it down fast, the score would have been a few points higher . . . but after slowly slipping on a few glasses over the course of a couple of hours, this is a “pass”

May 31, 2023 - Interesting that the Cellartracker reviews on this are all over the place. This bottle was a gift to us and I didn't know what to expect. Fortunately, I didn't read all the reviews before we drank it. I thought t was pretty good. Yes, it has big fruit but it seems balanced. With the price of other Napa Cabs skyrocketing, this isn't a bad buy. I don't think I'd buy it to lay down for a long time but I'd be happy if I received another as a gift again.
