January 11, 2019 - Orange tinted amber. Intense and complex nose of walnut, dried fruits, toast, almonds and sea breeze. On the palate it is salty with refreshing acidity and dry. It works with cheese like pecorino, parmigiano or manchego of course, olives, but also with meat or nut cake. Very long finish. I understand why Luis Gutiérrez gave it 95 in 2013 and the quality of this bottling is as great, I suspect. 5/13/18/8 The best drinking temperature is according to the label 15/20°C and it is great in a broad range indeed. -2023 But it is quite sensitive to air. From the 40% emptied bottle, stored for 24 h in the fridge the bouquet suffers significantly, the palate however is still great.

May 27, 2018 - Honey, fig, roast nuts, and spice cake. Great even after a week plus of being opened. In fact, as it gets more volatile, its complexity develops even more, while still remaining delicious on the palate. Also fantastic in mixed drinks, such as the Coronation Cocktail (91+).

    July 3, 2017 - 100% Pedro Ximenez
    Beautiful med amber gold

The nose shows a nutty, slightly raisiny character. Enticing elegance.

On the palate - full body, dry, medium high acidity. Salinity, citrus, green olive, tangy almost pickled vegetable taste, roasted chestnut, slight heat detected on the backend.

I love Montilla wines. Honest, pure, and most importantly last forever in the fridge even after you open the bottle. 90.
