February 18, 2024 - a little barn yard at first & then classic red burgundy

April 26, 2023 - On opening- light bodied, amazingly typical Gevrey nose and bright Smokey strawberry compote palate. Delicious and gluggable. With a couple of hours in the glass it gains body, develops a more tannic burly profile and becomes headier and deeper. Lots going on both on the nose and in the mouth. Really great even if a touch over extracted in this vintage.

September 30, 2021 - Hadn’t tried any of the reds from my 2019 MH delivery yet- the whites have been tremendous so far and I thought I had the willpower to let the reds age. Opened this on a whim and on day one it was far too young- good but all potential- “I told you so” to my terrible willpower.
On day two however the elements have balanced into a harmonious whole and it’s clear this is going to outshine the previous vintages of this bottling. The new barrel spice from the first day has mellowed and blended into the whole and the fruit purity is on song. Definitely one to hold for a few years to see that potential fulfilled on opening.

September 18, 2021 - As a direct reference to Neal Martin’s review saying the jury is out, the jury is now back with a verdict and it is ”this wine is delicious”.

Strawberry jam but in a fresh and light sense, soft and lip-smacking structure, violet and black tea, hint of vanilla, licorice. Extremely drinkable and nice. Doesn’t surpass the appellation but rather struts its village stuff really well.
