January 19, 2024 - Love it. Dark, yummy, smooth yet full of character.
November 27, 2023 - A previous bottle had seemed too old, dominated by flavors of wet leaves and overripe plums, but this one was just fine, incisive and acidic and excellent with a decadent lasagna. This is definitely old-school compared some of the other barberas we drink -- neither as smooth as the Sandrone nor as edgy as the Cecilia Monte -- but it is very satisfying as a wine with food. Based on my limited experience, there are some reasons for concern about bottle variation, but a good example will still be impressively youthful.
July 31, 2023 - Pop and pour - promptly said “Wooo Italian!”. Very nice wine, I’d say rustic but in a good way.
October 9, 2022 - Bottle performing on top. Tons of brett and animal notes/manure straight out of the bottle but settling down to notes of black cherry, milk chocolate and rose petals. High tingling acidity.
Not for everyone I'd wager but wonderul with the yellow chanterelle/fennel salami pizza.
March 28, 2022 - This caused some division of opinion. My wife thought it tasted sour and quickly moved on. Two others thought it was just fine and had no trouble finishing the bottle. I thought it tasted old -- the acidity was gone and the dominant flavor was of wet leaves.
March 22, 2022 - A correct bottle but once again, I feel it's a bit light/thin compared to the 2011s
March 4, 2022 - This bottle felt slightly muted compared to the 2011s and my previous 2012. Or it might be me that were a bit off due to a slight cold.
February 12, 2022 - What a magical bomb 👍🏾
Had it to truffle pizza
January 29, 2022 - Nice, a lot of leather and barnyard.
January 6, 2022 - Really nice barbera, best i have tried for some time in this price segment. Will folliw this winemaker. I definately like it and so do wifey.
