June 11, 2011 - i sold off all my turley (100+ bottles. WTF?) over three years ago, but this bottle escaped execution. long past prime. full of port like notes. i forgot to look at the alcohol level. needless to say, if you have any, drink.

March 1, 2011 - Last bottle, past it's prime. This stuff should drunk in it's first 5 years, otherwise it gets to a funky stage which is not very pleasing. The fruit dies early .

January 15, 2009 - Excellent example of what happens when Turley gets it right. I stronglyt feel this is at peak or perhaps a step beyond, with do discernable tannin noted and a general feel a wine just below what it was. Wonderful brambly, fruity nose that made my mouth water. Smooth on the palate, showing it's few years of bottle age. Unfortunately some alcohol heat detected before plunging into a very zingy, spice-based finish. Drink last one within a year.

December 5, 2008 - Excelklent but heavier than my last Turley(OLd Vines?), which I preferred.

May 16, 2007 - Not decanted - uncorked and poured, although based on recent experiences, I waited until the wine had warmed up a bit before consuming. Deep purple in color. On the nose, bright fruit, minerals, pepper and a distinct spiciness. On the palate, very complex, with spicy berry fruit, tart acidity, minerals and a licorice note all melding together perfectly. None of the elements stuck out at all - this is a beautifully integrated wine - almost elegant in nature, but ample power at the same time. Finish is the same - complex, smooth, powerful and long - the wine's balance shows thorugh here as well. Seems atypical for a Turley, but in a very good way - outstanding bottle of zinfandel. Still a half bottle left - seems like it will still be going strong tomorrow - we'll see. One final note - as with most of the Turley's, this was consumed after dinner over the course of several hours, but I suspect this bottle would have been an excellent bottle to consume with food.
