April 28, 2019 - Mini-Cellar Diminishment Party & Blind Cabernet Bordeaux Blends (Temecula, CA): Tasted side by side with the 2015 Klopp Ranch. Many preferred this wine over the younger version. I enjoyed both equally. Full mature earthy, mushroom aromas. Still plenty of fruit and spice box on the finish. Fascinating experience to see, taste, and smell how a decade can change a wine.

April 24, 2019 - The red wine of the day. Dark red fruit profile that is silky, deep and balanced. Lovely maturity that is singing and balanced. Long finish. Bravo - a terrific new world Pinot. (92)

April 4, 2015 - From magnum. One hour decant. Just a beautiful pinot noir that is approaching maturity. Plenty of fruit with engaging secondary characteristics.

February 22, 2015 - 92-94: tough to judge side by side with the Krug. This wine definitely has a softness that differs from the ME single vineyards. While this pinot was more on the elegant side, it still held its own with food, and the finish was good. Tannins are gone, and acid is softening.

January 5, 2015 - Medium-light red, garnet-edged. Harmonious nose, raspberry, blueberry, sandalwood, vanilla. On arrival, light tannin and medium -low acidity; supple not thin. Flavors favor the berry side of the chart for once with Merry, the more usual herbal notes and wood kept in the background - nice ! Finish is long. Terrific example of a top vintage for Pinot noir in the RRV. Bottle #1 of one.

April 26, 2014 - Merry never disappoints even 10 years old. Still bold fruit balanced with an earthy backbone

March 28, 2014 - Terrific bottle of wine. As stated before, the Merry Edwards Klopp Ranch is one of favorite RRV Pinot's. Looking back at my TN and from what I can remember, this one was a vastly different experience compared to my last bottle of the 2004 vintage I consumed last year. Ruby color, inviting nose, medium bodied and well integrated tannins. I appreciated cherries, and earthiness. A delicious treat! It started to decline roughly 2 hour after popping the cork.
Based on the performance of this bottle, I feel like drinking window probably extends through 2016.
Only one bottle left of the 2004 vintage that I will save for a special occasion as this vintage was my first purchase of Merry Edwards Klopp Ranch.

September 7, 2013 - This Pinot is still deeply colored and shows youthful aromas of black cherries, fig and exotic spices. No less than medium-bodied at this point, it struts nice acidity in a frame of medium-weight, supple tannins and well-integrated alcohol (despite being listed as 14.4%). The flavors mirror the nose and the middle palate is rock-solid. With one of the longest finishes that this taster has ever experienced, it was a real treat to experience such infanticide. I know that this sounds crazy in reference to a nine-year-old California Pinot, but this Merry Edwards offering is extremely age-worthy. No true oenophile would leave any of this gorgeous juice on the table! Drink now-2018.

March 8, 2013 - Historically, one of my favorites. That being said, it is time to consume any remaining bottles that you have in your cellar. Ruby color with a nice nose, integrated tannins with little structure and fruit is somewhat missing. After an hour it was declining. I have 2 bottles left and will consume in the next month or two.
