November 24, 2023 - Morning bottle share - this was in excellent shape. The coffee notes still lead but had moderated just a touch so that the rest of the stout elements were more in balance. A great pour. Rich, structured and intentional. A worthy variant.

December 25, 2022 - Part of the three bottle BCBS Christmas night flight. We have the '21 Double Barrel, this and the '21 Cherry Wood. On the #4, that Intelligentsia coffee note is pronounced and a lead note. Very complete and satisfying, but you have to like coffee notes to dig this one.

August 30, 2022 - Simple delicious. Maybe the GI I've ever had. Super smooth, clean and not overpowering. Perfect with a fine cigar. $25

March 19, 2021 - The 2020 BCBS variants that were available to me didn't seem to be designed to stand up to extended aging, so I felt like 6 months in the bottle was enough time to re-explore this brew again. The nose is still big on maple with the coffee definitely starting to dissipate. The sip, meanwhile, is still striking in its balance between the maple sweetness and the coffee bitterness, with a slightly bitter-forward finish that has no real hint of blueberry to be found.

December 30, 2020 - Heavy coffee overtones. Slightly sweet but nothing like the rest of the BCBS line. Maple and cocoa blend in with more of the blueberry in the nose than in the palate - though it does hit at first, it does not linger. Coffee and malty maple finish that hangs around like in-laws at the holidays.
