January 12, 2021 - This is probably my first "wine from the European Union". It's made from grapes harvested on both sides of the Italian/Slovenian border in what is actually one geographical/geological area.
This very lightly coloured Chardonnay shows refinement and subtle complexity with minerals and yellow fruits in the nose, also including a vanilla touch. Tasting it I notice clear and clean minerality evolving over exotic fruit, followed by a hint of green, towards citrus acidity. The finish lingers in earthy minerality.
At the price I paid this has an extremely favourable QPR, meaning I really should order extra bottles.
