September 26, 2023 - Unfortunately not much left of fruit and this bottle had a hot up-front quality and bitterness Guess I waited too long on these.

September 2, 2023 - At Il Davide…..with Pasta veal ragu.
Really much better than last bottle.
Great depth, touch of earth and fantastic dark berry finish. Mild Mint and Tobacco.
    Great pairing. Loved by all

    February 6, 2022 - With Artichoke Calzone….
Fairly muted on nose but still alive.
    Very supportive dark berry fruit.
Did not spend a tremendous amount of time with this.

April 9, 2020 - Opened then drank after 90 minutes. Not a lot of fruit. Attractive floral/mineral-y quality but didn’t knock me out. Good with food.

February 20, 2020 - Sadly, this bottle has passed its prime. Loss of fruit, tannin and complexity are disappointing when I recall previous bottles. What a difference a year makes?

December 3, 2019 - After an what I’m assuming was VA that blew off after a minute or two, the nose opened up some, but not enough to reveal what was a beautiful palate. Big tannins in balance with a pretty zesty acidity. Dark fruit, earth, tobacco. Blind I’d “know” this is Bordeaux and am happy to be wrong. Even happier that I have a couple of more bottles that I’m glad I’ve waited on since purchase back in 2010.

January 26, 2019 - Very nice fragrant nose. Fruit remains vibrant. Dark prunes, smoke and blueberries. Tannins are pretty coarse and pronounced. Good acidity which keeps it fresh. Finish is a bit short with drying tannins.

September 1, 2017 - This bottle was much more ready to drink than the one I opened in April.

April 28, 2017 - Night One: There are still detectable tannins, but they are not the problem. For my taste, there is not enough fruit to provide balance at this point. Given the age of this bottle, I do not have any hope for further improvement. As a side note, the cork showed signs of deterioration. Night Two: The wine was more integrated on night two. I raised the rating to 90. Of course, I still do not believe the quality was commensurate with the price paid. I have one more bottle, which I will hold off opening for awhile.

July 14, 2015 - Dust is all the nose offered tonight. Nice garnet, but nearing Grenache coloring and legs. First sip light body mass with discernible frame, a bit tannic with wood grain on back end. Opened a bit after 25 mms in glass, with tannins proportionately exposed. Llittle fruit, and will never come close to filling-out the frame. Almost pleasant, but not something you drink with limited opportunity; not with so many better choices in the cellar. 86-87 - could be an 88?? Try it again in 2 years.
