October 26, 2023 - 93. PNP. Nose of leather, tobacco, forest floor and dried flowers. Palate: dried blackcherry, med weight with an energetic, fresh youthfulness and a great finish. The structure (acidity and tannins) is still in place to carry the fruit at least a few more years. Really enjoyed this. Drank like a mature Bordeaux.

May 3, 2023 - From magnum. Dark reddish brick in color. Aromas of dark fruits, smoke, spices and pipe tobacco on the nose. An expansive palate shows sweet, tobacco tinged dark red fruits, hint of leather, medium acidity, ripe tannins and a long spice tinged finish.

December 20, 2021 - Past its prime. Nose isn’t bad, but first taste is overripe, not quite rotten fruit.

November 25, 2020 - This is a beautiful Carbonaione. Depth of fruit, balance, structure. Drinking wonderfully now.

March 20, 2020 - Deep garnet red color. Dark red fruit nose. Still has pronounced fruit flavors of dar cherry, plum, cassis with secondary flavors of cedar, leather, and clove. This is now a wonderful aged Sangiovese full of depth and complexity. The tannins are muted, but there is still a pronounced acidity. Well into its drinking window now with another 10 years possible. Decant for there is a lot of sediment.
