May 20, 2012 - A big fruit bomb, matches the character of Australia wine. Paired with steak but didn't match that well.

July 14, 2011 - PnP after Filet Mignon dinner. Dark red/purple. Thick, rich and unctuous, this has gained weight since I last remember. Extracted fruit, heavy with blueberry, meat, oak and nail polish on the nose. Dusted with a bit of tart red chalk blown in from the outback. Solid core of fruit bristles through the finish. Still some tannins clamping down on the gulp. Solid second tier wine to the Shotfire for sure.

March 14, 2011 - Great QPR on this $13 bottle. I needed a bottle that I wouldn't mind pouring 1.5 cups into a Braised Lamb that I was cooking, and at the same time drink to accompany said dinner dish. This Aussie shiraz fit the bill with it's Jammy, syrupy juice. High alcohol affected it's finish but its big bold profile is just what I needed to cut through eating lamb.

December 5, 2010 - drank quite well. still good fruit with strong tannins and a bit of leather and spice.

September 5, 2009 - Had w/pasta and red pesto. Pours a purple hue. Thick full bodied young Aussie, highly extracted. Nose of oak, plum and spices. Tannins caress the mouthfeel of plush plum, toasty oak, creosote, dark berry mash. A good, heavy wine with spunk - definitely Barossa. 14%, a bit of VA needs to be toned down to elevate this score to low to mid 90s.
