  December 12, 2015 - Light red. Very nice resolved nose and palate. earthy and exotic and really delicious. A beautiful old Zinfandel.

  June 4, 2010 - 1996, Valley of the Moon, Zinfandel
  On opening the color appears more garnet then cherry, the nose is forward with alcohol and the spice are nowhere to be found. After decanting for 40 min or so the forward alcohol disappears and the toasty oak, softened spice, deep mature plumb,and the meaty tannins emerge. Long after finishing the juice, the remnants in the glass take on a nose of smoky toast with over ripe plum spread .This seems like an exceptional value at $15 and makes me want to try a few of the newer releases like the 2007
