October 10, 2010 - Delicious
September 25, 2009 - Predominent oak and caramel flavor; long finish. Still drinking well!
February 28, 2009 - Tasted blind.
June 12, 2008 - Big surprise. Someone brought this over for dinner and we never got to it. Popped it open a few days later and was surprisingly smooth and full. Typical butter and oak, but some wonderful floral overtones kept it light. At what I think this goes for, this is a great value.
April 3, 2008 - Ripe tropical fruit on the nose: pineapple, papaya and carambola backed by a good load of buttery and spicy oak.
Fullbodied and fruity on the palate as well but well balanced by the acidity. Buttered popcorn, cream and smoke stay in the mouth for quite some time.
The oak influence is quite heavy, but there's still quite nice balance. A well-made specimen of the oaky style.
January 23, 2008 - Well oaked, but a solid core of guava and tropical fruit. Smooth mouthfeel. Very good value IMHO.
December 7, 2007 - Really surprising in lower end wine. Good Burgundian style. Would definately purchase again.
September 4, 2007 - Sampled at the Tuesday tasting at Papa Joe's. Cost $18 per bottle. The appearance is mid-golden in colour. To my lady friend, the nose is like a lumberyard, and the taste has too much oak. To me, the taste is flavourful, with some zing, and the finish is long. I give it an 84.5
August 19, 2007 - Same as my previous note, not sure this one will get any better.
July 21, 2007 - Dinner at Andy's House: Another surprise. I expected the usual helping of oak and butter and while they were there, they did not dominate the palate. Cirtus fruit on the nose with hints of oak and butter on the palate. Decent crisp finish.
