  November 22, 2023 - This is serious stuff, in a modern Rioja style, perhaps too modern but I’ll withhold judgement. There is definitely solid extraction, alcohol, and oak, but without it being a ridiculous show pony wine.
  
  Still, it’s a bit tough to drink.
  
  Another 5-10 years will show its true character.
  
  It’s good now. But I suspect not as good as the producer hoped, or is this for the American market?

  August 18, 2022 - Bought on holiday in Mallorca.
  
  Drank same night as Amador Medrana (2016) and it was the better of the two. Well balanced with dark fruit taste but tannins need to soften.

On opening, overwhelmingly dominated by oak, on the nose with toasted smokiness and on the palate - vanilla strong over the fruit. On day two the fruit has asserted itself, cherry plum, fresh acidity balancing up to the wood influence, vanilla not strong at all- much more gluggable for my tastes. On day three there’s a sense of what development may bring, softened but still present tannins, still lively acidity, fruit slightly softening towards damsons and a gentle balsamic note on the nose.
  This has stuffing and is clearly very young. 14% with good structure- will try my next bottle in 2024 but suspect it’ll take longer than that for the oak to integrate.
