December 21, 2023 - 5 hour decant. I loved this Bevan made. Sure it’s big and bold but it showed a bit more restraint than his PerUs or Bevan Cellars or Addax wines. And I don’t mind that. Deep mineral, crushed red brick notes, dark dark reddish to black fruits, graphite, herbs and mountain florals! Nice acid, big tannins on long finish. This is gonna get even better. IWR gave it a 100. Jeb 96+.

December 6, 2023 - Three and a half hour decant. Nearly opaque bull’s blood color. Black cherry, blackberries, black walnut, waffles with just a hint of maple syrup, and subtle chocolate malt. Dry, velvety, full bodied palate, with superfine acidity. Soft tannins on the longish finish.

This is rich, but still a touch youthful. It’s a bit more serious than a typical Bevan CS. This will absolutely improve in the coming few years. The nose continued to flourish over an hour of drinking.

July 8, 2023 - Still an exceptional bottling, love the Melanson definitely full of that Blue and Purple fruit I love so much, was just a little off from the last bottle popped a few months ago, but again - this juice just disappeared once opened so never stood a chance to get in some good notes!!

October 8, 2021 - Dense and plush, this should drink really well in 3-5 years. Big fruit, elegant oak but lacks peppercorn or tobacco flavors for a higher score from me. Will probably achieve 94pts in a few years but I didn't enjoy it today. All speculation at this point.

June 24, 2021 - So I refrained from rating, again - this time due an issue when I Corvin'ed the bottle, it sprung a leak! (must have hit a vein in the cork).. Just felt like having a late night glass after a long day.

Was thrown off by the issue, frankly a bit bummed as no way i was going to open the whole bottle, so grabbed a candle and melted my own wax top on the cork to try to keep it as fresh and leakfree as possible until was able to drink.

Wine was excellent, just wasn't in the mindset to judge and rate.

Popped open a week or two later, and shared with friends. Wine still had a ton of Blue fruit, but seemingly had a bit more black fruit than my first notes, so not sure if possibly exposed to air for all that time, going into hybernation, a little shock?? Who knows.

Was by far the WOTN, drank along side 19 Aubert Powerhouse, 12' Outpost Petite Sirah, 18 Realm Bard, '17 Andremily Rose. Everyone raved about what an amazing wine it was and beyond surprised to find out it was a '19.

If rating would have given it a 97, and believe this might have the potential to be 98-100, just seemed to have a bit shorter Mid and Finish than the last bottle, but again - cork issue could have been the cause.
