April 21, 2020 - Found this one hidden in a closet.
After bottle funk blew off, there was a strong dried plum nose.
Round tannins and surprising amount of acidity remaining.
Solid with pizza.
January 17, 2015 - Had forgotten about this one! Absolutely wonderful! Read another review that it was past its peak. Not this bottle anyway. Just perfect. Lots of dark fruit and more concentrated than I expect a Chianti to be. Would buy if I find another bottle!
April 29, 2012 - A bit past it's prime
February 14, 2011 - Deep burgundy color. Blackberry and leather or earth on the nose. Like most Chiantis, this is light, fruity with a hint of spice. Where this differs is the balance from beginning to end. If you love the Sangiovese grape, this is a must buy!
October 25, 2010 - Needs to decanter at least for an hour
May 17, 2008 - Cherry w/ a hint of leather.
April 23, 2008 - Decanted for 1hr - Seems to be a typical Chianti, strong with lots of berry fruit. Had this with a gourmet mac and cheese dish (lots of cream). Had a definite taste of A&W Creme Soda - probably due to the heavy cream in the dish. A good food wine with firm but rounded tannins. My only bottle, but I do believe this wine has many more years ahead of it.
January 4, 2008 - Decanted for 1 hour.Dark garnet color. On the nose dense black cherry, menthol, chalk and some cocoa powder. Short burst of dark fruits, minimal mid-palate but lingering subtle finish.
Moderate to heavy tannins and acidity. Nose was much better than the taste although very nice food wine. Nice QPR. Would have no problem drinking this again.
November 16, 2007 - Nose of spicy plums. Dark purple-garnet in color. Heavy tannins. Flavors of spice box, ash, and dark roasted fruits. Not very complex, and a little thin, but good flavors overall. Good with pizza.
October 7, 2007 - Very good. Already drank and don't remember details. :)
