April 20, 2019 - Just into 93 point territory.... this wine is clearly just at peak, needing a 1-1.5 hour decant before reaching its peak performance. Phenomenal supertuscan blend, clearly a blend of Italian sangiovese and merlot, with a touch of cabernet... my only qualm is that the finish is just a bit thin and moderate in length. If you have bottles of this, drink now +6-12 months. Will not improve, is in a phenomenal place now after an hour or so of air. Phenomenal value at the $30 I paid for it 10 years ago.

December 31, 2018 - Waited to share this bottle with the friends who introduced us to Brancaia; worth the wait. Big wine with the depth and balance of the cab/merlot (chocolate and dark fruits) with a little spritely character (spice) from the sangiovese.

May 3, 2018 - Surprisingly big wine. The CT drink window has it drinking through 2016, but I think this can go a several more years. I’d like to try it in 2020 to see its evolution. It’s color is rich and deep in the glass. The nose is dark fruit, wood and a touch sweet...almost like honey. It’s a lucious and full wine with far more tannis than I expected. Others have mentioned it’s overdone and that’s certainly not an unfair view. It’s oaky, but also delicious. I agree it’s a wine to enjoy with food. For the price point, I think Brancaia makes a nice bottle of wine.

March 10, 2018 - Very big but good. Heavy Sangiovese with a bit of Cabernet.
