  February 20, 2022 - PnP, this wine has some brett and a sharp red currant palate that needs time to blow off. It didn’t need long in the decanter before consuming, decanted for about 30 minutes before writing the TN.
  
  Medium-dark ruby-purple. Very fruity nose with red currant, red cherry, cedar, earth, a little bit of sweet baking spices, and a slight hint of something floral. Medium bodied, a bit thin on the palate, medium-high acidity, focused, and smooth. Palate is earthy, red currant, red cherry, a bit of under-ripe raspberry, and a bit of a herbal profile that is hard to pin down. Light round tannins. Medium-length finish of red currants, star anise, a bit of licorice, and granite. Over several sips this finish ends up persisting on the tongue. As the wine decants longer, a bit of a beef shows up on the nose.
  
  The Colette bottling from the same vineyard vibed with me better and I liked the Open Claim vineyard botting much better. Maybe this needs 2-4 years down, but given the light structure, I am not sure I would let this cellar for too long without checking in.
