December 24, 2012 - Nice golden color. Buttery wine with mild tones of tropical fruit. Acidity nicely balances the butter flavor. Gentle oak on the finish
July 12, 2009 - Clear, bright golden color. Steely fruit with vanilla tones on the nose. Butter, straightforward tropical fruit, and a dollop of smoky oak reveal a New World style. Some alcohol on the finish.
June 5, 2009 - A meduim gold color. Toasty oak, vanilla, and tropical fruits on the nose. Very smooth and creamy on the palate; just enough acidity to hold it together. I allowed it to warm in the glass - which I now do with nearly all whites that I drink - and it developed a nice lemon custard note on the finish. Paired nicely with king crab legs (w/drawn butter).
January 24, 2009 - The winemaker notes indicate that this wine was made in more of the Burgundian style with "tropical flavors and a slight mineral edge". The tropical aromas (mostly pineapple) are there as is decent acidity - but I could not detect any mineral characteristics. Toast, vanilla and butter dominated - which I was not expecting based on the label description. A good but not great wine - I recommend enjoying with food rather than as a stand-alone quaffer.
August 25, 2008 - very nice, buttery with floral notes
April 10, 2008 - (Had at a tasting -- no rating, but I would've given this an 84.) Straw yellow color with a very soil- and poop-filled nose. A bit creamy, but very light overall and distractingly diaper-like. Awkward finish with more soil/poop/diapers. Alcohol is noticeable.
December 29, 2007 - Winery: Beaut. brite, crisp frt and citrus, beaut. bal, touch soft min & oak; nose+, mth-, “figi apple, asian pear”
August 3, 2007 - nose: spicy pear, butter, OAK. palate: fruit, butter, OAK. Way too much oak. Also, that alcohol is too forceful (14.6%) and too obvious on the palate. If you like buttery, oakey chards, this is OK. Not my glass o' wine, though.
