July 23, 2019 - LEVINSB hit it right on the nose with his note. Still going strong. Wish I had more.

December 10, 2016 - Just OK. Decanted for 45 minutes and then consumedd over 2 hours. Showing more red fruit than I would have expected. Plenty of black pepper on the finish. A bit harsh in the mid palate.

January 22, 2014 - Hasn't calmed down. Very rich syrah even this winter in Brooklyn. Deep, deep dark fruits. Not sure this will evolve.

November 25, 2013 - Big, too big. Heavy. Comparable: cc sabathia in 2012, 2013.

March 12, 2013 - I agree with my fellow tasters, this wine is a truly unique Syrah. I did not note any of the 'artificial grape' some others mentioned. It was very tight upon opening. Muscular and deep in both color and taste. Big mouth coating tannins. Dark fruit but with some leathery accents at first. Opened up as the bottle warmed to room temp. More nuance to the fruit and some chocolate emerged. This was a real pleasure. I'm a fan of the Tensley and Andrew Murray central coast syrahs. This is my first Amador county wine.

March 18, 2012 - Very strange and hard to rate. It was all over the place with a very off finish.

March 16, 2012 - Outstanding concentration. Huge secondary flavors. Massive mouth coating beast. Not for every night, but thoroughly enjoyed.

January 20, 2012 - I won't score this one. It had a strange, artificial grapey taste that dissipated somewhat over the course of dinner. Different from other syrahs. Ever tried sac-sac? Comparable: Steve Karsay.
