December 12, 2023 - Not pleasant. Bad smell. Disappointing.

March 31, 2023 - What a joy to drink. At its apogee without a hint of decline. Beautiful nose with dark fruit, oak, smoke, saddle leather and spices. Full bodied with ameliorated but still present tannins and smooth mouthfeel. Secondary notes and liveliness abound. Long, long finish. I feel the 1998 was more opulent and this one turned out more for the long haul. Very nice wine.

December 11, 2022 - P&P. nose typical of Mc Laren Vale* shiraz, bold dark fruits, some wood but nicely integrated, spices. The palate starts rich and large but has very good freshness for the pedigree. very long and great after taste. still has a lot of life.

July 29, 2022 - Great upon opening but started to fade fast. Notes of raisin and prune, lots of bricking. Some leather and funk. Always a pleasure but drink up.

June 24, 2022 - Clearly a compromised bottle. Cork broke but the seal was good. More brown than expected and tasted maderized, so likely suffered from poor shipping early on. Purchased in 2003 and stored in my cellar since. Not rated.
